Reimagining Language Access for Healthcare and Legal Teams

Reach by Tarjimly enterprise interface
Summary

Reach is an enterprise language-access platform I designed for healthcare and legal organizations. I owned the end-to-end design across mobile, tablet and web — from request initiation and interpreter connection to admin visibility, reporting and team management. The platform connects organizations with professional interpreters in 30 seconds or less across 250+ languages.

Context

Healthcare and legal organizations often serve people who do not speak the same language as the staff supporting them. These teams need fast access to interpreters, but traditional language services are often slow, expensive and difficult to manage.

Reach by Tarjimly was designed to help organizations connect to professional interpreters quickly across more than 250 languages.

The Problem

Language access was being treated like a vendor service rather than a daily workflow. Staff had to coordinate requests through calls, emails, admin teams, billing tools and separate portals.

This created friction for frontline workers and made it harder for administrators to track usage, quality and team activity.

The product needed to serve both groups:

  • Frontline staff needed speed.

  • Administrators needed visibility and control.

My Role

I designed the Reach experience across mobile, tablet and web. My work covered request initiation, interpreter connection, team workflows, admin visibility, reporting views, cross-platform patterns and reusable product components.

Research & Findings

Frontline workers wanted the fastest path to an interpreter. They did not want to think through admin details during a patient or client interaction.

Administrators needed a different experience. They needed user management, activity tracking, service visibility, reporting and compliance reassurance.

The key insight was:

"The product had to feel simple for staff while still being accountable for organizations."

Design Strategy

I designed the experience around clear action paths. Users could:

  • Start an audio interpretation session.

  • Start a video interpretation session.

  • Select a language.

  • Connect with an interpreter.

  • Continue a session.

  • Review activity.

  • Manage requests through the organization workspace.

The goal was to make the urgent workflow simple while keeping the wider system organized.

Enterprise Workflow

Organization admin sets up workspace → Team members are invited → Staff start an interpretation request → The system finds an available interpreter → The session begins → Session details are saved → Admins review usage, activity and reports.

Key Design Decisions

Cross-Platform Access

Reach works across mobile, tablet and desktop so teams can use it in hospitals, legal offices, field environments or remote settings.

Team Management

Organizations can manage staff, requests and language activity across departments.

Compliance Confidence

The product surfaces security and compliance signals to help enterprise teams feel confident using it in sensitive environments.

Speed Over Clutter

Every interface decision prioritizes speed, clarity and direct action.

Outcomes

30s or less
Interpreter connection time
250+
Languages supported
Reduced
Administrative friction

Reach helped organizations connect with professional interpreters in 30 seconds or less. It also reduced administrative friction and supported language access across mobile, tablet and desktop.

Reflection

Enterprise UX is not about making a product feel bigger. It is about making complex operations feel manageable for the people who depend on them. Reach showed me that enterprise products work best when each role gets the right level of control at the right time.
